Our new group aims to explore and deepen understanding and enjoyment of poetry in English. We'll encourage participation, helping to illuminate the poems selected by members through focused discussion. The poems for each session will be agreed in advance, and then circulated, along with any relevant notes or helpful web links. Why do certain poems move us profoundly, or change the way we think - and how do they achieve their effects? These are the kind of questions we'll explore by sharing our ideas, interpretations and personal responses.
