In this group we look at a particular artist and their art work each month. We start each session with a short film clip or verbal introduction looking at the social, historical or political context of that artist’s time. Each group member is encouraged to choose a painting by that artist that resonates with them to explain and stimulate further group discussion. Monthly sessions also encourage outings to local galleries to see relevant exhibitions. The meetings are held in my home in the Bassett area where there is plenty of parking and has a maximum of six participants. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday afternoon each month at 14:00.
